Lily Tunic Sweater

Lily Tunic Sweater

Hello everybody,

Here I am, as promised with another finished project. I bought this pattern on Etsy but you can also buy it from the designer’s website itself here. I had originally bought it to turn it into a dress but eventually I decided to keep it as a tunic. Funnily enough, I haven’t really had a chance to wear it anywhere yet!

New Year’s Eve dress

New Year’s Eve dress

Hello everybody!

Finally I’m back with a new post! First of all though, I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year and I hope that it will be filled with love, peace, health, friendship and prosperity.

Okay, so let’s get back to the dress. The story behind this is that I had seen this Putting on the glitz dress pattern online and I absolutely loved it.

Finally! Back with a new finished project!

Finally! Back with a new finished project!

Hey everyone,

So sorry for the long wait but you cannot rush these things and sometimes you just cannot get the inspiration or the will to knit, especially with other things going on in your life.

Anyway, I’m back with tons of finished items, but let’s just start with one for now 🙂 A baby set.

Cabled Sweater

Cabled Sweater

Hello everyone,

So sorry for the lengthy delay but life got in the way a bit and I’ve only just finished this sweater a couple of weeks ago and then life happened again – not something you can stop, can you?

Anyway, things seem to be getting back on track for now and I found some time to sit down and write a blog post.

A new coat for my dog

A new coat for my dog

I have been buying coats for my dog for a few years now because he’s the type who feels the cold a lot, but now it’s a matter of severe arthritis and we really need to keep him warm. One of the problems of the coats you find for sale is that the velcro doesn’t hold after a while. Another problem, this time concerning our dog, is that he is on steroids for a brain inflammation and he has inevitably put on a lot of weight so the usual coat sizes on sale won’t fit around his stomach. So I decided I would make one for him. I had some grey Aran left over from the dress and a new ball of beige (both from the Kirkton House Rustic line) and started measuring my dog, Nemo.

My new dress – from a pattern made from scratch

My new dress – from a pattern made from scratch

In my last post I mentioned I was knitting a dress and that I’d finished the wool…I had to wait for about a month or so before the shopkeeper I was waiting on told me there was no way she could get me the wool, so I just up and went to the main wool shop here in Malta (John Gregory Ltd, Msida) and immediately found what I needed. I set to work almost instantly afterwards and finished the dress.

The story of this dress starts around November/December 2014 when my parents and I were visiting some shops. I saw these knitted dresses and I thought: “Hey, I could make one of these…a better one which will fit me perfectly!” So as soon as I was home, I set to work, with mum’s help, to create a pattern.
