Changes coming soon

Changes coming soon

Hello everybody!

Hope your week has been great. This post is going to be a little different because I’d like to tell you about a new venture I’ve embarked on together with my parents. We are going to start making wire jewellery and other things made with wood, clay, etc. Together we thought we could incorporate everything together with the knitting and start selling things online.

Therefore, this blog will no longer be just for knitting but it will also be talking about all the jewellery and other hand-made items we make. Of course, the name will also change and we already have the name in place. We have the domain name and the website is currently under construction. Everything will be revealed in time…

Everything is so exciting at the moment for all of us here. We can’t wait to have our logo and to start putting up pictures of items for sale. We have to start small of course but we have been doing all of these things (except for the jewellery) for a long time and we can’t wait to show you what we have so far and what we will be doing in the future!

I shall leave off here this time. Meanwhile, I hope you all have a great weekend and we will see you soon! ❤

Want to learn how to knit?

Want to learn how to knit?

Hello everybody,

Many times when I meet people and mention how much I love knitting, I often hear them express a wish to learn the craft, although I’ve yet to hear a Maltese man say so. Anyway, there are also many times when these same people say that they wish to take knitting up again but give up due to skipping stitches, etc. Well, I always try to encourage these people to pick it up/again.  Read the rest of this entry »

The most wonderful needles EVER

The most wonderful needles EVER

Hi fellow knitters,

Hope you are all well and still knitting. I usually write about my knitting projects but this time I’d like to tell you all about a birthday present of mine from last year. I had this pattern in mind and it mentioned the KnitPro Symfonie interchangable needle set. I looked them up and I liked them. My parents bought them for me for my birthday and I honestly can’t tell you how much I love these needles!

I broke my needle!!

Hello fellow knitters/knitting fans,

So I was pretty excited about starting a new project today, seeing as I have a long weekend ahead of me. Now, unfortunately, the pattern required Aran wool but I cannot find nice funky colours in that thickness in Malta, so I decided to get double knitting.

After I calculated the stitch count and cast on the stitches I needed on my 80cm long circular needles, I started off… I was really looking forward to making this dress… Read the rest of this entry »

Knitting hurts!

Knitting hurts!

Hello everybody!

Hope you are all well. At the moment I’m experiencing quite a bit of pain in my upper arms and shoulders and I definitely have been blaming it on knitting. I’ve had two weeks off work recently and I just focused on knitting something for a friend of mine who’s having a baby soon. It’s quite a big project so it’s heavy and I’m the type of person who hyper-focuses on tasks; this means I hardly take any breaks. Terrible way of doing things, I know!

Questions for me :)

Questions for me :)

I have been tagged in a Facebook post (in a FB page for Maltese bloggers) in order for others to get to know me better and I thought I’d do a blog post here instead of my other new blog RUMPs in Malta since it’s been a while 🙂

These are the questions that have been asked and if there are any regarding my blogs I will answer for both.

When you’re working on something and you finish your yarn! -.-

Hello everybody,

Hope you are all well and that you had a great holiday period and that you started the new year with positive things! I’m not happy to say that I started my year stranded at the party place by the taxi we’d booked, but that’s another story!

Back to this post though 🙂 I had gone to a clothes shop last year and saw a particular dress which immediately flipped a switch inside my brain saying: “I could make that! And a better one at that!” So, I took a couple of sneaky photos of this dress to keep the image fresh in my mind and set off on the adventure of creating my first ever pattern – this was both easy and difficult (I will tell you why in a different blog post).
